Front End Developer

Turning designs into pixel‑perfect, responsive and accessible user interfaces.

Prologue · Hi, I'm Gemma

Designer turned developer.

I'm a front end developer based in Vancouver with over a decade of experience turning designs into fast, accessible websites. I started out designing and building sites for a startup agency, so I understand both sides of the handoff. Today I work with agencies, in-house teams and businesses of every size, building interfaces that look right, work everywhere and are easy to maintain.

Chapter IX · Why it matters

My key engineering values.

  1. Build to scale

Using version control, documentation, naming conventions, variables and reusable components. The site can grow with your business and the development team, futureproofing your build.

  2. Test for all

The target user audience is considered in depth when making final decisions. But accessibility standards, cross-browser compatibility and AI agents experience must be considered.

  3. Document Workflows

Acceptance criteria, comments, README, changelog, pull requests, live design systems and live documentation. A source of all truth to reduce friction, either between teams or your future development.
